SUKAYNA EL HANI
Artist Bio
Sukayna received her BFA in Craft and Material Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University (2019) and interned at the Chrysler Glass Studio in Norfolk, VA (2019) and Starworks Glass Studio in Star, NC (2020). She worked as a part time glass blowing instructor at Corradetti Glass Studio in Baltimore, MD (2020-2021) then moved to Asbury Park, NJ to work at Hot Sand Glass Studio where she became assistant hot shop manager (2021-2024). Sukayna completed her first artist residency, Better Together, at Pilchuck Glass School in May 2024 and was a visiting artist demonstrator at Wheaton Arts Center in June of 2024. She went on to complete her second artist residency at the Pittsburgh Glass Center in the spring of 2026. Presently, Sukayna is a volunteer glass blowing instructor and assistant hot shop technician at L'institut Spécialisé des Arts Traditionnels in Meknes, the very first vocational education glass center in Morocco.
Sukayna has also been presented in several galleries and group exhibitions such as Holidays at Belger Crane Yard Studios, Belger Gallery (2024), Cup Show, Alma’s Gallery and Shop (2024), Glass Metamorphosis, Parlor Gallery (2024), Chrysler Exhibition, Norfolk International Airport (2023), 180 Days, Neil Britton Gallery (2020), Glass Art Society Online Student Exhibition (2019), and Virginia Glass Guild Members Exhibition (2018).
